Starting in August 2013 Prof. Kenner will conduct his prostate cancer research programme with financial support by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) through stand-alone project "Genetic dissection of IL-6 signaling in prostate cancerogenesis" (P26011). Prof. Kenner was delighted at this news, stating "Funding clinically relevant research through competitive research proposals has become more and more competitive nationally in recent years. I am proud that we have been selected for funding with this ambitious research proposal."
